Afeena Marks

Update:

The parents of Afeena, along with her doctors, have decided to continue her treatment in Guyana. They are confident that they can manage her case safely in-country and have moved forward in that direction.

Donations received on her behalf will be transferred to other children under our care. If you donated to Afeena and prefer to receive a refund, please do not hesitate to contact us at shea@sheacharity.org or 929-888-7432 and we will refund 100% of your donation.

We stand ready to assist Afeena's doctors should they need us and we continue to wish her good health.

Meet our tiny patient, baby Afeena! Afeena was severely burned across her entire body when an electrical outlet exploded at her home in Lusignan. She was subsequently rushed to Georgetown Public Hospital where she received extensive burn care including skin graft surgeries. Her doctors worked tirelessly to save her life and they have been able to keep her stable; however, Afeena’s body has rejected the graft. Additionally, she has become extremely malnourished due to her lack of appetite; this is causing even further complications and she is now at very high risk of not surviving unless she received advanced medical care in the United States.

SHEA Charity has accepted Afeena’s case and we are in the process of coordinating her transport to the US, but we need your help. Help us help baby Afeena by making a donation today!
