SHEA Charity has received an urgent request to assist 12-year-old Dwain Deputran who is currently hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital in Guyana, with third degree burns to 40% of his body.

Despite his doctors incredible efforts to treat young Dwain, his injuries require advanced technology and a facility which is better equipped to manage his case and save his life.

This child is a resident of Morganston, Berbice River, Guyana, which is where he sustained his injuries during a boating accident involving the explosion of an engine.

SHEA Charity has accepted Dwain’s case and we have secured treatment services for him in the United States. We are currently working on coordinating his medical transfer, including all logistics and immigrations needs.

Please join us in helping to save this young child by making a donation today.

Update: November 15, 2021

Dwain has completed all of his treatment in the United States and has returned to Guyana. He may return to the US for a future evaluation at he determination of his medical team. His family has been advised to have frequent follow-up visit at the GPHC Burn Care Unit.

SHEA is a publicly funded charity, which is managed by volunteers. 100% of all donations are allocated to patient care. See our Gold Star Commitment to Transparency rating at GuideStar. https://www.guidestar.org/profile/47-5525774
