SHEA Charity has received an urgent request for medical assistance in a case involving two brothers who were severely injured in a fire.

These children are ages one and four and are currently at the Georgetown Public Hospital Civic. The one-year-old is on life-support and the four-year-old is also very critical.

Unfortunately, the advanced medical treatment they require is not available in Guyana; therefore, they must be urgently transported via medivac to the United States for lifesaving treatment.

We are kindly asking for your donations to help us save these young brothers.

Update: August 24, 2019:
After many hurdles, we are pleased to announce that the Sohan brothers departed Guyana today at 4:00 PM local time via air ambulance. They will be transported to the United States, where they will receive emergency, lifesaving surgery.

Update: November 6, 2019
11 weeks after the Sohan brothers arrived in the United States for life-saving medical treatment, they are ready to return home to Guyana. The brothers received countless surgeries to combat their many injuries including: skin grafts, surgery to reopen Gansham’s mouth(which was closing due to to his burns) and causing great difficulty for him to eat.

These brothers are true fighters and survivors!

We at SHEA are incredibly grateful to their aunt, Mrs. Lilowtie Goberdhan (Debbie), who selflessly put her life on hold to accompany the brothers and their mother for the duration of their treatment in the U.S.A., to assist in caring for the boys. Mrs. Goberdhan is a licensed nurse, and a true Angel on earth in our book. We thank her for her selfless acts of kindness!

The brothers will return to the US in the upcoming months for continued treatment. Any donations are very much appreciated so that we can see them through treatment completion.

SHEA is a publicly funded charity, which is managed by volunteers. 100% of all donations are allocated to patient care. See our Gold Star Commitment to Transparency rating at GuideStar. https://www.guidestar.org/profile/47-5525774
